Dear Brother,
Life is a dream!
Not too long ago we shared the same hostel rooms, savored the same hostel delights and sprinted with our mats for those coveted spots at darshan. Looking back from where we are in our lives now, our years at Parthi and Brindavan seem like a dream. In a unique sense, we are all connected through the dreams we shared at Swami’s feet. We offer this issue to Swami with the warmth of and gratitude for those dreams.
Dreams drive the change we want to see happen in the future. The message of change permeates this season, as fall turns the green in trees to deep hues of orange and golden brown. Autumn is the season to reflect on impending change, as nature prepares for winter.
The Vidyullekha team is contemplating many changes to this newsletter. We want to make the content more personal, so we speak even more directly from our hearts to Swami’s. For instance, we want to capture the most memorable words Swami has spoken to each of us, in Bhagawan Uvaacha. Please drop in a note if you are willing to share with us your cherished moments with Swami, and we shall feature them in upcoming issues. Similarly, we plan a makeover in graphics, so we can continue to offer our best to Swami.
In this issue we carry the story of an exciting trip a few alumni made to Swami in July -a journey that took a year’s preparation, prayer and patience. The center piece of the issue is Swami’s glowing endorsement in early September of the love and selflessness of 155 alumni serving as staff in His institutions at the ashram. We also take you down musical by lanes filled with lilting melodies and glorious memories in From My Diary.
We are enthused by the love and response Swami has shown for Vidyullekha, and want to make continuous improvements. But none of the improvements we plan for our newsletter can happen without your help. We are stretched for time and can definitely do with a hand. Even if you do nothing but feel you would like to help – let us know at [email protected]. These pages are purely about such feelings, and wanting to do our very best for Swami. We hope to hear from you.
Finally, have we all booked our spots for darshan on Jan 1, 2008? Swami has said He will be waiting to see us. Do we not feel like rushing to see Him, too? If He is nothing but reaction, reflection and resound – we need only be firm
in our action, resolve and voice!
Much Love,
From the Vidyullekha team desk.
