A Gathering of Love, Gratitude, and Service
On the serene evening of Sunday, 20th April 2025, around 30 Sai students and their families gathered at the Sai Temple, 133 Moulmein Road, Singapore, for a deeply meaningful and soul-stirring event—Prema Bandham. A phrase that translates to “Bond of Love,” Prema Bandham is not just an event for the past 14 years in Singapore, but a heartfelt reunion of Sai students, united by their shared journey under the divine guidance of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Prema Bandham is the time of the year when all Sai students living in Singapore gather to pay gratitude as a collective group. The sacred Sai Temple, always a welcoming and familiar space for Prema Bandham activities, once again opened its doors to host this joyous gathering. From 5 PM to 7.30 PM, the air was filled with reverence, gratitude, and the soft murmur of affectionate reunions. Students who had once walked the hallowed halls of Swami’s institutions now stood as men and women, accompanied by their families, bound by memories and values that continue to shape their lives.
Offering Love at His Divine Lotus Feet
The session commenced with a beautiful gesture of devotion—all Sai students offering fragrant roses to Bhagavan, while the sacred vibrations of Vedam chanting echoed through the hall. This simple yet profound act set the tone for the evening, invoking the divine presence of Swami and drawing everyone into a collective spiritual consciousness.
The chanting, the roses, and the gathered families created an atmosphere soaked in Bhakti and Prema, a true testament to the enduring love that binds Sai students, wherever they may be.
A Satsang of the Heart
The highlight of the evening was a Satsang on Swami’s infinite love. The session wasn’t merely a discussion—it was a flow of emotions, memories, and reflections. Sai students, with humility and devotion, shared experiences from both the past and present—moments that reflected Swami’s omnipresence, guidance, and unconditional love.
Many got emotional, with tears of love and gratitude in their eyes. Some spoke of turning points in their lives where Swami’s teachings steered them through challenges. Others recalled small, tender moments with Swami—glances, gestures, or words that left a lifetime of impact. Each narrative, soaked in sincerity and devotion, drew tears of gratitude and joy from the listeners.
It became clear that even though physical proximity to Swami might not be possible for all, His presence continues to be unmistakably felt—in the stories, in the energy of the gathering, and in the eyes of those who had once been lovingly nurtured by Him.
The evening was not just about remembering Swami; it was about re-experiencing Him through each other. The brotherhood and sisterhood shared among the Sai students were palpable. Their bond was not just of classmates or alumni, but of fellow spiritual travellers walking the path shown by their Divine Master.
Bhajans from the Heart
After the Satsang, the students sang their hearts out to Swami through bhajans and special songs. Each note carried deep devotion, echoing their connection with the Divine. The bhajans served not only as musical offerings but also as heartfelt prayers, further intensifying the spiritual atmosphere of the gathering
A Joyful Conclusion
The evening concluded with all the Sai students joining together to offer Mangala Harathi to Bhagavan. The hall glowed with devotion as the flame circled, symbolizing the light of Swami’s love that continues to guide each life He has touched.
Following this spiritual offering, all attendees partook in a sumptuous dinner prasadam, served with love. As families sat together to share the meal, the joy and unity of the Sai family was evident in every smile and every interaction.
Extending Love Through Seva
The spirit of Prema Bandham did not end with the evening gathering. True to Swami’s message that “Service to Man is Service to God,” the Sai students of Singapore came together once again, this time in the spirit of Seva.

On 11th July 2025, the day after Guru Poornima, a special Prema Bandham Seva activity was conducted. The beneficiaries were more than 100 workers in Singapore who had lost their jobs due to accidents or unfortunate circumstances. These individuals, often overlooked and struggling silently, were embraced with compassion and dignity by the Sai family.
The Sai students personally purchased a range of essential items and lovingly assembled goodie bags containing:
- Multivitamin tablets
- Nescafe 3-in-1 sachets
- Mixture snack packets
- Packets of Nuts
- Cheese crackers
- Talcum powder
- Bath Soaps
- Plaster boxes
- Men’s handkerchiefs
- Clothes hangers
- Foldable shopping bags

Each item was thoughtfully chosen to bring a touch of comfort and care to those in need. When the bags were distributed, the smiles of joy and heartfelt gratitude on the faces of the recipients were the only reward the Sai students sought. This Seva was a natural extension of the love they had received throughout their lives from Swami—a way to give back to society, to serve silently, and to uplift without judgement.
Blossoms of Swami’s Love Around the World
The Sai students of Singapore today are settled in various walks of life as professionals, parents, contributors to society. But what unites them is not their success or achievements; it is their grounding in human values and the education of the heart they received from Bhagavan.
Many are actively involved in Sai activities within the Global Sai Organization of Singapore, continuing to live the ideals of Love, Service, Truth, and Righteousness. Their lives stand as living testaments to Swami’s transformative power—a power that turns students into servants of society, that sows’ seeds of spirituality and reaps fruits of compassion.
In Closing
Prema Bandham 2025 in Singapore was more than a reunion. It was a reaffirmation of the timeless bond between the Guru and His students, of the values that continue to illuminate their paths, and of the love that transcends time and distance. In every rose offered, every word spoken, every act of service rendered, Swami’s presence was felt, not as a memory, but as a living force, vibrant and eternal.
As the Sai students continue their journeys, one truth remains steadfast: Where there is Love, there is Swami. And where there is Swami, there is Love, Peace, and boundless Grace.
