Dear Aunty,
Please accept my respects and condolences. I have no words to express my admiration for the way in which you have been dealing with this sudden turn of events. Your equanimity & poise demonstrates the strong bond you have with our beloved Swami.
Wanted to share a few words about what a wonderful person, Dear Ruchir Sir was. I moved to the Brindavan hostel from Parthi for my undergrad degree the same year Ruchir Sir moved there as a teacher – 1986. I was fortunate to have been in the hostel, growing up in the presence of the dynamic Rajkumar Jain Sir, G.V.Ravishankar Sir and Ruchir Sir, along with the other saints. Yes, they were all saints that Swami put in our midst to help mold us and guide us. They sacrificed everything a typical adult at age aspires for in the outside world, in order to stay with Swami and be of service to HIM.
On that monday morning, I had just reached my office and I learned of Sir’s passing. This was the photo that had been shared on the group. I sat there looking at Sir’s photo with Swami for over 30 mins and couldn’t hold back the tears. These are the thoughts I had penned then…
What a beautiful photo – speaks volumes about their relationship. Hidden within the photo are a million lines of poetry describing the relationship between a Master & Disciple, Parent & Child, Master craftsman & His instrument, and above all God & His Devotee. The devotee, holding onto His Lord’s hand firmly, bathed in His gaze, while looking out into the distance with admiration for His creation, but also not lost in focusing on the trivialities and minutiae of life. Makes me almost jealous, but also inspires me to work towards that kind of a relationship with GOD.
He was a Saint indeed – always looking to please our Dear Lord and also helping everyone realize their potential to connect with the same Lord.
“Imbibe love in your heart. Whomsoever you come across, talk to them with love. Draw all those who are in trouble close to you. Then God will shower His love on you. How can you receive God’s love if you do not love your fellow men? If you want to become deserving of God’s love, then first and foremost you should become deserving of the love of your fellow men. God will help you if you help others. Help Ever, Hurt Never. Never put anyone to trouble. Love everyone. Lead your life with goodness of heart. Your heart should melt with love and love should flow in it. Embodiments of love, develop love in you more and more. This is an aspect of Divinity. It is in reference to this that Lord Krishna declares that all beings are an aspect of His Divinity. My Dear ones! You are not different from Me; I am in you and you are in Me!” Divine Discourse, Jan 27, 2007
I remembered this quote, which I had read a few weeks ago. Just seeing the outpouring of all the messages from his colleagues, students and his elders over the last few days – I can’t help but see why Swami kept Ruchir Sir so close to Him. He was loved by so many people. How could Swami not?
Thank you for sharing your wonderful son with his world, and making the worlds of all of us who had the good fortune of interacting with him, a hopeful, and better one!
I pray that Swami showers His Love and Blessings on you and always keep you close to Him.
Loving Pranams!
