Looking back at my life, I know it would have been very different if I had not joined Brindavan for my B.Com (Hons). I hope it would not have been bad, but I know how much I would have missed out on, and I am eternally grateful to Swami for not missing out. I still remember my first class on accounts, where I scored 1/10 in journal entries. From the most hated subject it turned out to be my favorite one, because of Ruchir sir. Words fall short to express the gratitude and the love we students have for him.
I used to be amazed as to how sir would walk in to the class, without a piece of paper. Dictate long amalgamation problems with complex adjustments and tally balance sheets without having to touch a calculator. I still remember what he told us about his life and how he had gotten there. I guess nobody had really shown us how to connect the dots before. That’s when I realized how much was possible.
He made us students realize that “Life begins at the end of our comfort zone” and would always stretch beyond our limits. I thank him for inspiring many young minds and laying for us strong foundations not only on a professional front, but also on a spiritual front.
Today, I am a CA and also a passionate teacher, I thank him for inculcating this interest in me. I know it is only because of him that I have had the guts to choose to CA as a career and come out with flying colours.
I rarely write anything on social media, but his sudden demise moved me. His demise has left an eternal void and broken many hearts. He lives on in our broken hearts forever. His life was a message to many. It deserves to be shared. Hence, making a small attempt to express my gratitude to my most beloved teacher Sri. Ruchir Desai. I also regret not thanking him for all that he has done for me when he was still alive.
Your message for us to cultivate sensitivity to everyone and everything around us shall remain imprinted in our hearts.
Dear Ruchir Desai sir, you will live on in the hearts of your students.
