If you want to experience Swami physically as a Student, if you have missed one, then you have to be with and experience Ruchir Sir. As a Student it would be very unpredictable of Swami of when he would be happy or upset with the boys; both being an expression of unconditional love towards them. It was also same with Ruchir Sir. He was a perfect blend of Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga

His words were nothing short of Motivation and Inspiration and by words I mean both rebuke and praise. We always used his classes and his presence to find solutions to our problems with the thought that how would a man with such great memory, understanding, thinking, patience and more, handle a situation and how should we be responding. He was like Swami for us. Every moment a huge lesson; his ignoring us a lesson and his attention a lesson.

He always gave a perspective of how the world is and how you should be with his every action. He taught the smallest of smallest lessons be it speaking truth, to biggest of biggest business lessons through his own life. Every action had two meanings embedded within, one being for the usual and the other specific to the student being addressed…just between the student and Sir.

He was nothing less than a Perfectionist. One thing he was very particular was with Speaking Truth. For having spoken truth, he would punish you but remember there was nothing greater than the attention of the guru himself. I remember when my father passed away in my second year the first person coming and consoling and talking to me was Ruchir Sir. When the time came, in our third year, to leave, as I revered him so much and I would search for myself into him, his goals, his dreams. I went to him and asked for his mobile number, he as usual called me inside his room and gave a fatherly hug for some time, which felt extremely soothing, and asked me about my future plans/
Perceiving the confusion writ on my face he suggested what I should be doing next and told me the most motivating thing which any student would be eagerly waiting to hear from his teacher, He said, “You are extremely talented and smart and have a very sharp brain just stop overthinking and everything will go well”. These words stay with me, assure me his blessings and will forever be my motivation.

Everything is Swami’s will and whatever happens is for the overall good is the message from Gita and our Swami. I hope anyone reading this to stay motivated and accept Ruchir Sir’s passing as Swami’s will as it is difficult for me to both say and believe this. Thank You. Always love you, Ruchir Sir!
