Tribute to Prof. Anil Kumar Sir
I feel blessed to have been associated with Prof. Anil Kumar when I was a student in the Brindavan Campus. He lived his life for Bhagawan and with Bhagawan. His sudden passing is an unbearable loss for the Sai family.
Prof Anil kumar, fondly known as The Divine Translator was loved by all. He echoed His Master’s voice and spread Bhagawan’s message and philosophy with his speeches. After Bhagawan’s Mahasamadhi, he was a guiding light for countless devotees encouraging them in continuing in the Path of Sai with zeal.
I felt his name Anil had a special significance. “Anil” in Tamil means a squirrel. There is a story of the squirrel that helped Rama in building the Bridge to Lanka in search of Sita. Prof. Anil Kumar acted as a bridge between Bhagawan and His students on many occasions. He was also a bridge between Bhagwan and His devotees.

Anil Kumar Sir’s impact went beyond academic evaluations; he treated everyone with equal love and concern, regardless of their performance or achievements. His parental approach provided comfort and support to students, exemplifying leadership through kindness and understanding. Despite strict disciplinary norms, his benevolence and humor left a lasting impression, ensuring his memory lives on as a compassionate and inspirational figure.

His love and devotion to Swami are matchless. He was a living example of eloquence at its best. I vividly remember Sir called me and enquired about the poem I used in my gratitude talk to Swami. He’s simply unmistakable in every respect. He and his humour will be deeply missed and none can fill the vacuum.

Anil Kumar Sir will forever remain in the hearts of the students of SSSIHL, more so his students of Taxonomy, wherein he weaved his magic of delivering the topic in a manner that was comprehensible and captivating. An excellent orator, academician and an even greater human being, you will be in our hearts forever. His devotion at the lotus feet of Bhagawan is legendary and I pray to Bhagawan to provide the bereaved family members the strength to tide over these trying times.

What stood out for me was Sir’s commendable memory. Even more than four decades I graduated from Brindavan, He was remembering the Bhajan I had composed (Shirdi Sai, Dwarkamayee, Prashanti Vasi) and appreciated that I would play Kanjira. We will always miss Him

Sir was the best example of Sakhya bhakti.
Swami treated him as a friend, and it was inspiring to see the relationship between Bhagavan and Bhakta. Swami at the physical level gave himself so much to all of us and we saw how Swami conversed with sir. Jokes, humour, miss-outs during translations, Swami correcting hum showed us the human side of the Avatar and allowed us to develop a relationship with Bhagavan. We will miss Sir and his warm nature. However, I am sure He will be with Bhagawan always.
