MFM 2014-16, Brindavan
Dear Ruchir Sir,
It is indeed rare to find teachers who care so much for each & every student. I am grateful to you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done.
Memories are afresh of the learnings we had from you in the classroom & at the stores department. The professionalism and perfection at managing people, punctuality at classes, stores or dining hall; the discipline and respect you commanded; and ability to handle every possible situation with near ease – all this still leaves me in awe of you. You often mentioned in our class that ‘intelligence is the ability of the mind to hold two contradictory ideas and still be to function’. And true to it, every classroom session you weaved magic by breaking down all the complex concepts into simple understandable knowledge through a very methodical and logical approach. You are an inspiration to strive towards perfection and achieve our best.
I remember hearing the news that you were hospitalised due to covid and wanted to make a quick call to enquire how you were doing. I tried reaching you and then you promptly called me back just to say you were doing well, despite a sore throat which was evidently noticeable.
Never did I imagine that would be the last call I would have with you… for I had lots of hope that you would be back in action, with all your vigour and passion, to hold and guide Swami’s students, just like you have always done. No words would suffice to describe the role you have played in my life.
I recall my very first day at Brindavan, sitting in front of the stores with my mother. You came out and enquired as to what course I have been admitted for and gave reassurance to my mother who was hesitant to leave me behind at hostel, away from home. And from thereon, you have constantly guided and impacted me at each and every important decision I made in my life.
The most cherished years of our college years at Brindavan would be the two years of MFM at Brindavan. I vividly remember the time Brindavan had started the integrated PG program, M.F.M, in 2012 which was your brainchild. I fondly recall the infectious enthusiasm with which you used to share with all of us about how the course curriculum was developed at par with professional courses at the best universities across the world. You arranged lectures from top leaders in the industry, meticulously planned the symposiums and industrial visits – just to give us the very best so that we learn and improve. And it didn’t end there – you continued to guide us in choosing the right career and constantly chose to mentor us even after moving out of the university.
I am deeply pained by the sheer suddenness with which you have left all of us. If only you knew that the void you created with your absence is incapable of being filled, maybe you would have chosen to be back here amidst all of us.
I have many times felt unfortunate to have not been able to experience Swami while being his student. But I can only feel grateful to Swami to have given us a teacher like you, who lived his message, constantly reminding us of that Ideal Sai student which Swami would want us to be.
To me, you are immortal, for you continue to live in the hearts of all of us that you have left behind.
With lots of love.
Your student.
